Beia with i-mas : Transforms the Prenatal Experience with Artificial Intelligence

Beia is an innovative technology that uses artificial intelligence to transform traditional ultrasounds into hyper-realistic images, allowing expectant parents to “meet” their baby before birth with astonishing detail.

Recently, i-mas published an article titled “Integrating Artificial Intelligence in Product Design: Beia Case Study”, highlighting how collaboration with the i-mas team has been key to developing this pioneering technology.

In the interview, Joan Baró, software developer at i-mas, explained how convolutional neural networks (CNNs), trained with thousands of real ultrasound images, were implemented to enhance clarity and eliminate visual obstructions, such as the placenta. Advanced optimization techniques, including dropout and the Adam optimizer, have enabled the generation of highly precise images in real time, without the need for post-processing.

Thanks to this innovation, families can enjoy a unique emotional experience, clearly seeing their baby’s features and creating a special bond from the early stages of pregnancy.

The article also highlighted that Beia has been honored with the prestigious Gold Delta Award at the Delta Awards, organized by ADI-FAD, recognizing excellence in industrial design and its cultural and economic impact.
